£13k cash boost for Society Matters in Gateshead

Gateshead Goes Local Funding

Society Matters CIC, a social enterprise in central Gateshead, has been awarded £13,000 of European Social Funding to support local people back into employment.

Jayne Graham MBE, Executive Director of Society Matters CIC, said "We're absolutely delighted to be able to deliver more help to more people through the support of the Gateshead Goes Local CLLD programme. Society Matters CIC aims to provide services that make a mark on people's lives, and our 'Where Next?' project does exactly that.

"We will be helping over 50 people who are at a crossroads, wanting to get back into employment but not sure how. Through a combination of supported group-based learning, mentoring and work experience at charity Citizens Advice Gateshead, our Where Next? project has already proven to help Gateshead people make progress towards where they really want to be in their lives. With the help of Gateshead Goes Local our impact can now be even greater."
